Garden
Like a seedling pushing up tender green leaflets, our garden is only just begining to show its colours. Planted in the spring of 2008 it will serve as a demonstration to the coop's members and the community of what they can do, literally in their own back yards!
The garden serves to educate people about permaculture (permanent agriculture), edible plants, native vs non native plants, the importance of local biodiversity such as birds and insects, wise water use and thebenefits of choosing to cultivate food in your own yard instead of maintaining a manicured lawn.
The garden also serves as a social space. Everyone is welcome to walk through and 'smell the flowers,' sit and enjoy their coffee or join us for one of our 'Movies in the Garden' nights during the summer.
